Manchester City coach, Josep Guardiola, was again angry with the Premier League organizers. He criticized the match scheduling which did not consider the condition of the players.

The man from Spain is quite often intersect with the Premier League this season. Most of his frustration was transferred to the VAR system which he felt did not benefit the squad.

This time he was targeting a schedule. Yes, Manchester City and other Premier League clubs must perform in a very narrow span of time.

For example, Manchester City will face Sheffield United on Monday (12/30/2019) later this morning. Even though they had just played the 19th week's match against Wolverhampton on Saturday (12/28/2019) yesterday morning.

Criticism of Premier League Schedules

Naturally, Guardiola was upset about the schedule. Because the players do not get enough time to rest. Moreover, they have to pass a busy schedule throughout this December.

"They don't care," Guardiola said, quoted by Goal International. "In the first season it felt the same, we played at Anfield and two days after that met Burnley at home," he continued.

"My words will not change anything, Jose [Mourinho] and Jurgen [Klopp] have said the same thing. Every season is the same, TV makes decisions and we are obliged to adapt," he continued.

"I have to evaluate the players and their feelings. We have to lose players who are fit. I honestly don't know how they will recover and their feelings, we will see later," he added.

Analyzing and Looking Ahead

This season, Manchester City's performance has been sluggish. They no longer appear as dominant as shown in the previous two seasons, where they managed to win the Premier League.

Now the club nicknamed the Citizens are stranded in third place and 14 points adrift of the top standings, Liverpool. Guardiola could only evaluate the team's game so that it would not be repeated in the following season.

"We performed extraordinary for two seasons and in this event, we lost more than in the previous two seasons. You have to analyze it and look forward," he concluded.
