Fighting Racism, Paul Pogba Invites MU Squad to Use Special Bracelets

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba apparently has his own initiative to try to fight racist abuse, especially in the world of football.

Pogba invited his teammates at Manchester United to wear black and white bracelets that read 'No to racism; and 'We are one' in the Boxing Day versus Newcastle match yesterday.

Pogba himself appeared since the beginning of the second half in the match at Old Trafford which Manchester United won with a landslide score, 4-1.

 Own Initiative

Apparently, this action was Pogba's own initiative. The French midfielder admitted that he was inspired by the actions of Thierry Henry in 2005.

"That is my idea. I am thinking of doing this but I do not want to go through UEFA or FIFA. I do it myself," Pogba was quoted as saying by Goal International.

"I think we have the opportunity to have the power to show something in football, on TV. People see it so I think this will make people understand a number of things," he added.

"I think this is due to ignorance. Ignorance and things like that, and just want to show people that you are all one. We are all one. I remember when I was young about 'Stand Up, Speak Up'. This reminds me of that , "he said.

Just Want to Play Soccer
Pogba said he was sad to see that there were still many players who were victims of racist harassment. The latest, Chelsea defender, Antonio Rudiger gets ridicule when playing at home to Tottenham.

"I don't want to be president, I don't want to be a politician. We are just footballers, we want to enjoy it. Fans must be comfortable coming and watching football fun, that's all," said Pogba.

"We are just for soccer, we enjoy football, we do what we love. We give happiness to fans, everyone, the entire audience and that is what we want to see in the stadium," he said.
