Yamaha Suggests Duetkan Vinales-Quartararo rather than Defend Rossi

The MotoGP legend, Giacomo Agostini, suggested that Yamaha duet Maverick Vinales and Fabio Quartararo for the 2021 season. Yamaha was asked to move on from Valentino Rossi.
Quartararo appeared impressive in his debut season in the premiere class with Petronas Yamaha. The 20-year rider became the Rookie of the Year after finishing fifth in the rider standings with seven podium finishes throughout the 2019 season.

Meanwhile, Rossi began to exhausted competing in the top flight. After taking the podium twice at the start of the season, Rossi then struggled in the second half.

Rossi's contract with Yamaha will expire at the end of the 2020 season. Agostini also suggested that Yamaha not retain Rossi, but hook Quartararo for the 2021 season.

"If I were a Yamaha, who would I choose between Fabio Quartararo and Maverick Vinales? I would take both.

"A team needs young and fast riders. Yamaha has Valentino, indeed, but we don't know what he will decide."

"If I were a Yamaha, I would risk having duet Vinales and Quartararo. I would not let anyone of them go."

"Valentino? In life, you must step forward and not look back ..."
