De Jong Call LaLiga Level Below the Premier League

Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong believes, the Spanish League has players with better skills. However, the English League has a higher level.
The 22-year-old footballer joined Barcelona last summer from Ajax Amsterdam. Before deciding to move to Catalonia, De Jong was linked with Premier League clubs likeAjax Amsterdam

In his first season with Barca, De Jong was almost irreplaceable in midfield. Until now, De Jong has played 18 times with one goal and a pair of assists in the league.

Thanks to De Jong's contribution, Barcelona now top the Spanish league standings with a two-point advantage over eternal rivals Real Madrid, and seven points from Atletico Madrid in fourth. De Jong admitted the competitiveness of the English League raised his level.

"I used to think that LaLiga is the strongest football league in the world," De Jong revealed to the Mirror. "You can see their dominance in European competitions."

"Spanish clubs have always gone a long way and have often won major trophies, the Champions League and the Europa League. However, the Premier League has grown stronger in recent years."

"Judging from the pure skill, LaLiga is better. However, due to its intensity, English competition has a slightly higher level."
