Pep Guardiola's views on Thiago Alcantara

 

Pep Guardiola knows Thiago Alcantara very well. The Liverpool player was called dangerous because of his quality.

Thiago Alcantara is a 29-year-old Spanish player. He is a graduate of the La Mansia academy, aka the Barcelona academy.

He broke into Barcelona's main squad in 2011. Unfortunately at that time, he was unable to compete with Sergio Busquets.

Thiago strengthened Barcelona until 2013. He was then carried off by Bayern Munich and won the Bundesliga title for seven consecutive seasons and won the Champions League in the 2019/2020 season yesterday.

Under Guardiola, Thiago played 100 times in all competitions with 11 goals and 20 assists. He also tasted four Laliga titles, two Copa Del Rey, two Spanish Super Cups and once the Champions League.

But yes, it was difficult for him to remove Sergio Busquets from the main squad.

Reportedly, Pep Guardiola allowed Thiago Alcantara to go to Bayern Munich to get a chance to play more. Guradiola also coached Bayern Munich during 2013-2016 which then ventured into the Premier League with Manchester City.

"Thiago has very good quality, especially in terms of his mental," said Guardiola as quoted by the Mirror.

One thing Guardiola admires about Thiago is that the player has no fear. So that allows Thiago to do everything on the pitch.

"He thinks everything is possible, so he has no fear," continued Guardiola.

So it seems exciting to look forward to Liverpool's duel against Manchester City. Thiago will face his former coach Pep Guardiola, whom the two men have great respect for.
