Alex Marquez: So Marc's Sister, More Rug than Than Luck
Newer MotoGP rider, Alex Marquez, denied he joined Repsol Honda because of the intervention of his brother, Marc Marquez. In fact, he felt the advantage of being a younger racer like Marc was nothing.
Launching from the GPOne, Alex Marquez feels so much pressure after moving up from class to MotoGP. Moreover, he joined Honda who became the best constructor in the 2019 season.
"I know I have to prove more and more, or become the fastest than the others. I know all the pressure that exists. But Alberto Puig asked not to worry and go through everything as is normal," said Alex.
Alex Marquez then opened his voice about the slanted accusations that mentioned the contribution of his brother, Marc Marquez, who made his name lined up to replace Jorge Lorenzo at Repsol Honda for MotoGP 2020.
I think being a Moto2 world champion is also counted (in Honda's decision to recruit him), without that title, my name might not be taken into account. After all, more losses I get from being Marc's sister, "he added.
Repsol Honda's decision to give Alex Marquez a place was indeed quite surprising. The reason is, there are still many other experienced riders who are deemed more appropriate to fill the vacant seats left by Lorenzo after retirement.
The heavy burden is now on Alex Marquez. MotoGP 2020 will be the proof as the 2019 Moto2 champion and also as a replacement for the former five-time world champion, Jorge Lorenzo, at Repsol Honda
