Lampard: Jorginho is Lucky to Not Get a Second Yellow Card
One of the key moments in Chelsea's victory over Arsenal was when Jorginho was spared a second yellow card. Frank Lampard called Jorginho lucky.
Chelsea recorded a comeback and won 2-1 over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday (12/29/2019) evening hrs. Left behind after burglarized Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the Blues responded in the second half through Jorginho and Tammy Abraham.
Well, the fact that Jorginho scored the equalizer for Chelsea confirms that he is shaded by great fortune in this fight. Because he could have received a second yellow card and was sent off in the 77th minute.
Jorginho at that time interrupted the pace of Matteo Guendouzi in the middle of the field and pulled him a little. Guendouzi fell and the Arsenal players asked referee Craig Pawson to issue a second yellow card.
But Pawson did not budge and instead brandished his yellow card at Alexandre Lacazette. Lacazette is considered to be protesting excessively. Six minutes from the incident, Jorginho scored the equalizer and Chelsea's momentum to reverse the position.
"That was one of the decisive moments, obviously it could have ended with a second yellow card. In the London derby, many such violations occurred, some occurred at the start of the match and did not get a yellow card in which some were sentenced." said Chelsea manager Frank Lampard.
"We might be a little lucky with that one, but there will be times when I complain about not getting lucky in other matches. I think the incident itself is not entirely clear."
"And maybe sometimes you make your own luck. The way Jorginho plays is a big catalyst for change when he gets on the pitch. He wins second balls and shows character,"
