Danilo Petrucci Disappointed Failed to Break the Big 5 in the 2019 Season

The Ducati driver, Danilo Petrucci, was disappointed after failing to penetrate the targets he was aiming for in the 2019 season.

After four years joining the satellite team, Danilo Petrucci finally broke into his factory team Ducati for the first time.

Being promoted to the manufacturer team made Danilo Petrucci's appearance improve.

Actually Petrucci's performance during the first half can actually be said to be good.

However, when entering the second half, his appearance was not consistent.

As a result he was knocked out of the top five of the 2019 MotoGP final standings.

Petrucci is ranked 6th with 176 points.

Even so, in fact the performance over time always improves.

Ranging in the final standings the Italian racer has always dipped since 2015.

Starting at 10th place, going down to 14th, then going up to 8th, then holding up to 8th again, up to now up to 6th.

Although the ranking went up, to be honest Petrucci was not burdened to become a MotoGP world champion.

However, he still has a personal target even though he missed his estimate.

"Nobody asked me at the start of the season to win the World Champion."

"I'm certainly not happy with the second half, but I struggled to (top) in the top 5 until the end.

"I don't know how many of you at the start of the season will think I will win the race or be third in the World Championships for the previous six races," he said.

This 9th numbered racer judged it was natural that pressure was from the riders from the manufacturer's team.

While feeling normal, he also evaluated his game during this year's championship.

"This is normal pressure on the manufacturer's driver. Maybe I made this mistake, especially in qualifying, because I want more," Petrucci said.

"There is no hope in the first half of the season, but in the second half. This is key for next year, trying to focus more on the race and be more consistent in the second half.

"I learned from the mistakes I made this year and I plan to be even better next year," he said.
