Defeated by Frank Lampard, Jose Mourinho Precisely Antonio Conte

Jose Mourinho sings a unique opinion after Tottenham's 0-2 defeat of Chelsea in Week 18 of the Premier League.

Mourinho actually mentioned the name Antonio Conte, not Frank Lampard.

This game is going as fierce as it should be. London derbies are always hot, let alone bring Mourinho with his former team-mate Lampard. Obviously, teacher vs. student duels are always interesting.

This time, Lampard proved successful in surpassing the master. Chelsea plays amazingly with a combination of young and senior players. This time, Willian was the decisive winner of the Blues.

Mourinho also admitted defeat, but he actually praised Conte, not Lampard. What does it mean?

Conte's team

Mourinho knows Tottenham's problems lie in the first half, they let Chelsea play too comfortably and score two goals through Willian. For Mou, that version of Chelsea that once triumphed under Antonio Conte a few years ago.

"They [Chelsea] performed better than us in the first half. It was not difficult for me to admit it. They played in a system that was very comfortable for them," said Mourinho.
"That system is what they played for two years under Antonio Conte. Many of their players are comfortable with that style of play."

"Alonso, Azpilicueta, Kante, Willian, these players are very comfortable in the system," he continued.

Locked up Spurs

In essence, Chelsea played so neatly and dominated midfield. This style of play is aimed at locking up Spurs players in their defenses, then giving a big blow at important moments.

"They created problems for us in the first half, not the type of problem with the opportunity to score goals that are open, but let's say the problem with the control they hold," added Mou.

"Basically the game struggles in our playing area even though they do not create many opportunities. In the end you are right, it's easy for me to admit that they are superior," he concluded.
