Daniel James Recorded a Bright Start, Ryan Giggs: I knew it
Wales national team coach Ryan Giggs said he was not surprised by Daniel James's impressive start at Manchester United. Giggs said from the beginning he had full faith in the winger would succeed at his former club.
James is one of three players who joined Manchester United this season. He was brought in from Swansea City with a transfer fee of just 15 million pounds.
Despite having a cheap price, James showed a brilliant performance. He packed three goals from four appearances in the EPL this season.
Giggs said he had predicted the foster children would perform brilliantly at United. "I'm not surprised by his performance because he underwent a good pre-season," Giggs told Goal International.
Giggs considers that the pre-season session is a crucial period for a new player.
He said that Pre-season is the player's chance to bring out his best abilities and also adapt to his team-mates.
"When you join a new club, pre-season will be a crucial period. You have to be able to play as much as possible during pre-season."
Giggs considers that slick performance of James was also a positive impact for the Wales national team because the player is now more confident.
"When he plays and scores, it makes him more confident. No matter who you are and what abilities you have, confidence is everything and that confidence builds everything."
"And has had a good start at Manchester United, but he also performed brilliantly in several matches with us, especially in the summer when things were difficult."
James is likely to appear as a starter at the Euro 2020 qualifying event later in the morning.
He will duet with Gareth Bale in the wing sector of The Dragons when dealing with Azerbaijan.
