Klopp: Liverpool are lucky to get Joel Matip for free
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp thinks his team is lucky to have a hard class defender Joel Matip free.

Liverpool recruited Matip in 2016 .. He was brought free of Schalke 04. The Reds have given a four-year contract.

Matip has become a pillar of Liverpool's back line. But he can't compete with Joe Gomez. But after the England defender was injured last season, Matip returned to the heart of the Liverpool team and has continued to maintain his position until this season even though Gomez has recovered from his injury.

Matip forms a very solid duo with Virgil van Dijk. They both helped Liverpool continue to win six matches experienced in the Premier League scene.

"In a world with a high transfer value to bring players like Matip free transfers is extraordinary, it is probably one of the best businesses we have done in the last few years. So yes, everything is fine," Klopp said at Soccerway.

"Matip and Van Dijk played together, but not only Matip when Gomez or Lovren played, they were very, very good players and we have problems with this position."

"This does not mean that they are perfect and they will not make mistakes, they make mistakes, but not too often. Yes, Matip is in a very good moment," Klopp said.
