Reporting from the Daily Star, Premier League regulations state that players who just joined on January 1-2 cannot strengthen their new club in Week 21.

The player can only play the following week or the 22nd week.

That means, Takumi Minamino was only able to register his debut in the Premier League when Liverpool visited the headquarters of Tottenham Hotspur.

However, Takumi Minamino did not have to wait until one week to make his debut with Liverpool.

The Japanese midfielder could mark his first appearance when Liverpool entertain Everton in the FA Cup third round at Anfield on Sunday (1/5/2020).

Minamino was announced as Liverpool's new signing on Thursday (12/19/2019).

The 24-year-old player was bailed out by the Reds, the nickname of Liverpool, with a dowry of "only" 7.25 million euros (around Rp 131 billion) and a contract until 2024.

As of January 1, 2020, Takumi Minamino will be officially introduced as an employer for The Red.

Aside from Takumi Minamino, Liverpool also repatriated Nathaniel Phillips from his loan spell at VFB Stuttgart.

The presence of the two latest ammunition is expected to add depth to the Liverpool squad who are still performing in various competitions.

As of now, besides in the domestic league, Liverpool are also still competing in the FA Cup and the Champions League.

Especially in the Premier League, Liverpool is currently still at the top of the standings with 55 points.
They are 13 points ahead of nearest competitor, Leicester City, and still have one more match to save.
