Former players can fail Real Madrid to win the Spanish Super Cup

Real Madrid's efforts to embrace their inaugural title in the 2019-2020 season through the Spanish Super Cup can be hindered by the former player who is now playing with Atletico Madrid.

Real Madrid will face Atletico Madrid at the top of the Spanish Super Cup on Sunday (1/12/2020).

Real Madrid have the right to qualify for the finals after beating the 2018-2019 Copa del Rey champions, Valencia, while Atletico Madrid advanced to the final after toppling defending champions Barcelona, Barcelona.

Kans Real Madrid to win the inaugural trophy in the 2019-2020 season is open considering they have Zinedine Zidane as the tournament specialist coach.

Zinedine Zidane has won 8 trophies in prestigious tournaments in 8 finals.

However, El Real's chance to win the trophy could have been thwarted by their former player who is now grazing with Atletico Madrid, Marcos Llorente.

The 24-year-old was part of the El Real squad that won the 2017-2018 Club World Cup trophy.

He was even named the best player at the top of the Club Club World Cup 2017-2018 when against Gremio, last December 2017.

No wonder the Spanish Super Cup final held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia will be a special place for Marcos Llorente.

The award for the best Club World Club member can affect the Spaniard at the Spanish Super Cup which was held in Asia as Abu Dhabi.

That is what can be a strength for Atletico Madrid to conquer Los Blancos later in the Spanish Super Cup final.

Marcos Llorente was previously a defensive midfielder of Madrid who moved in the summer of 2019.

Atletico Madrid redeemed Llorente worth 40 million euros as a substitute for Rodri who was signed by Manchester City.

In the 2019-2020 season, Llorente only played 3 times as a starter and it was not full for 90 minutes.

However, 24 minutes on the pitch against Barcelona in Saudi Arabia in the semifinals of the Spanish Super Cup could give him the opportunity to look up against Madrid.
