Novak Djokovic opened a good relationship with Kobe Bryant when competing in the Australian Open remembering a basketball superstar after his death

Tribute to basketball legend from the  basketball legend Kobe Bryant, given the world tennis players.
Kobe Bryant (41) passed away with his son, Gianna, in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, with many tennis players.

Kobe Bryant during his life had also written a children's book on the subject of tennis in 2019.

"Wake up in the morning knowing the bad news about the tragic death of one of the greatest sportsmen in the world," said Spaniard Rafael Nadal in an upload on Twitter.

"Kobe Bryant, Gianna (his daughter) and other passengers. I say deep sorrow to my wife and family. I was very surprised," said Nadal in his tweet.

A few days ago, the Serb, Novak Djokovic, discussed how he was friends with Bryant and how the former basketball star helped him when he was having some trouble with injury.

"Kobe has been one of my mentors," Djokovic said.

"I have had several telephone conversations with him. We have met in the last few years when I suffered an elbow injury and struggled mentally and emotionally to deal with all this," said Djokovic.



"He is one of the people who really exists for me and can provide some very valuable guidelines," Djokovic said.

After hearing the news of Bryant's death, Djokovic gave the tribute to his friend in an upload on Instagram.

"My heart is truly saddened by today's news," Djokovic said in the photo he uploaded with the former Lakers star on the @djokernole account.

"Kobe is a great mentor and friend. There are not enough words to express my deepest sympathy to Bryant and every family who suffer from this tragedy."

"May God bless you and your Gianna. Thank you for being there for me and inspiring the whole world. Thank you for showing us all athletes how to compete and respect sports. Thank you for the greatest legacy you have left with us. I am" I will never forget your smile that spreads positive energy wherever you go. You and your child will live forever in our hearts. "

Australian tennis legend, Rod Laver, including sports figures who convey their condolences.

"I am very sad to wake up with today's news," he wrote on Twitter.

Stan Wawrinka tweeted "RIP Legend," and the Wimbledon champion twice.

Meanwhile Petra Kvitova said: "Life can be so cruel. It's hard to stay strong in this terrible tragedy. Kobe RIP. Send my sincere condolences to the Bryant family."

Karolina Pliskova called Bryant one of the greatest sportsmen in her entire life.

The ATP tour also posted a statement to Twitter:

"We are very sad to learn of Kobe Bryant, his daughter, Gianna and others leaving on the plane. On behalf of everyone on the ATP Tour, our thoughts and condolences together with family and friends during this very difficult time."
