The five-time NBA champion also mentioned that Ronaldo has the same achievements and skills as Messi.
"And Cristiano (Ronaldo) is certainly there, side by side with Messi," the NBA legend about Ronaldo said.
The former LA Lakers player made a friendship with Messi a few years ago and Bryant was very impressed with the Argentine superstar.
Messi and Bryant's friendship began when Ronaldinho introduced them to each other.
In an interview, Bryant recalled how Ronaldinho described the young Messi as the future in the world of football.
"I think Messi must have been 18 at the time, 17 maybe," Bryant said at the time.
"Ronaldinho called him and said, 'Kobe, I want you to meet a player who will be the greatest player ever,'" he concluded.
When Bryant decided to retire in 2016, Messi even wrote his personal social media account, about his hopes for his best friend.
"Bryant will always be in history books as one of the greatest athletes, it was he who helped me become interested in basketball. Hopefully all the best is in his life (Bryant)," Messi wrote.
