Formula 1 Ask for E-Sports Athletes to Review New Race Rules

Formula 1 Ask for E-Sports Athletes to Review New Race Rules

Formula 1 organizers will ask for help e-sports athletes to simulate the new rules of the land jet race.

The head of the Formula 1 technical team, Pat Symonds, said they would use the human element to test the sport's new regulations.

He also made sure to ask for help from Esports Series Formula 1 racers to do the test.

"Incorporating the human element into new regulations is difficult. One of the training models we are studying is the eight meter long grid formation," Symonds said.

"We are checking whether the model is suitable," he continued.

According to Symonds, F1 wants to see if the new direction will guarantee a more exciting race instead of actually driving accidents.

"If you ask physicists, they will say that this rule guarantees that all cars will start the same," Symonds said.

"What we need to know is that this rule can guarantee an exciting lap or even a lot of collisions? To know this we have to involve humans," he said.

Symonds hopes that the plan to invite E-sports racers can be realized soon.

"I hope by the end of 2020 we will be able to invite elite e-sports racers to test our ideas," Symonds said again.

The Formula 1 E-sports series was launched in 2017 and has just finished its third competition season.

This competition consists of 10 teams and competes for US $ 500 prize (Rp. 6.9 million).
