Mane's success was the first in his career, considering last year Mane only ended up in runner-up position after losing to Mohamed Salah.

This year, it was Mane's turn to reach the position and defeat Salah and Riyad Mahrez.

Seeing Mane win the award he had received, Salah also showed an unexpected reaction.

Instead of being hurt because of losing to Mane this year, Salah actually shows that he is also happy.

Through his personal upload, Salah appeared to congratulate while uploading a photo of Mane.

"Congratulations bro @ sadiomaneofficiel," Salah wrote.

Regardless of Salah's response, Mane himself seemed happy with his trophy as the 2019 Africa Player of the Year.

"I am very happy and proud to win this. Football is a job that I like," said Mane as reported by The Sun.
