Zidane Ultimatum Ramos and Varane
Real Madrid appear less convincing at the start of the 2019/2020 Spanish League season. Zinedine Zidane reportedly gave an ultimatum to Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane.
Madrid only collected five points from a possible nine points, after only one win. In the past two weeks, Los Blancos have been offset by Real Valladolid 1-1 and Villarreal 2-2.
From that period, Madrid have conceded four goals and scored six goals. These statistics are believed to make the Madrid coach was not happy.
Ramos and Varane failed to show consistency like previous seasons. Ramos even made a fatal blunder that resulted in Villarreal's first goal.
At first, Zidane hoped Madrid could bring in center backs and other midfielders ahead of the closing summer transfer window. However, El Real only completed an exchange with PSG between goalkeeper Keylor Navas and Alphonse Areola.
Reported by Fox Sports, Don Balon reported that Zidane warned Ramos and Varane to improve their performance. If not, Madrid will bring in a new defender on the January exchange.
Ramos and Varane have two weeks to improve their performance while defending their respective national teams, before returning when Madrid host Levante on September 14.
