Valentino Rossi Feel Honored to be a Racer on the Yamaha Team

The Italian MotoGP racer, Valentino Rossi, feels honored because he is still given full confidence to race on the Yamaha team even though he is no longer young.
Valentino Rossi has not been able to do much to compete with other top-tier racers in the 2019 MotoGP.

The Italian rider nicknamed The Doctor was not even able to present the victory for the Yamaha team last season.

Rossi's best results in 2019 were two finishes as runners-up in the Argentina MotoGP and United States MotoGP races.

After that, Rossi's appearance slowly declined in subsequent racing series.

Valentino Rossi even incarnated like a prisoner after recording the results of failing to finish, aka did not finish (DNF) in three consecutive races.

The nine-time world champion recorded minor results at the 2019 Italian, Catalunya and Dutch MotoGP.

The note made Rossi repeat the poor results nine years ago or rather in 2011, while still racing for Ducati.

Until the 2019 MotoGP entered the second half, the teammate Maverick Vinales had not been able to rise again to the podium.

Valentino Rossi must also extend his fasting victory since the last time he set foot on the highest podium at the Dutch MotoGP 2017.

This makes the position of the 40-year-old racer in the manufacturer's team increasingly threatened considering Vinales again won two victories last season.

Rossi's situation seems increasingly cornered when he saw the appearance of a young Petronas Yamaha SRT driver, Fabio Quartararo who was competitive despite appearing as a rookie.

How come? Quartararo managed to finish fifth or two levels better than Rossi in the final standings of the 2019 MotoGP rider.

Seeing that, Yamaha was faced with a dilemma to choose two racers who would advance in the manufacturer's team for the upcoming 2021 season.

Yes, Iwata's squad certainly does not want to lose Vinales, Quartararo and of course Rossi, who is still considered to have charisma.

Valentino Rossi also spoke about the condition of his team which is considered to be facing a dilemma for the year 2021.

However, Rossi is very grateful that Yamaha is still confident in its performance and has never urged him to make quick decisions regarding his future.

"Yamaha told me not to feel like a hostage, and they also believed that I was still competitive," said Valentino Rossi, quoted by BolaSport.com from Motorsport.

On the same occasion, Rossi was honored because he was still given the opportunity to be in the manufacturer's team.

"This is an important thing, for me this is an extraordinary honor," he said again.

"In addition, this is also a luxury for the driver when he decides to stop, the other team will usually leave you stranded," said Valentino Rossi.
