Kamaru Usman Targets Clash with Dream Opponent Khabib Nurmagomedov
UFC welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman, is eager to challenge Georges St-Pierre as an opponent target in 2020.
Kamaru Usman ended the 2019 season pleasantly by defending the welterweight belt obtained from Tyron Woodley at UFC 235 in March.
One crucial duel to defend the title was also passed by Usman by defeating Colby Covington at UFC 245 at the end of the year.
Usman's neat achievement is even more flashy because he holds the record of winning over four fighters in the top six.
Only Jorge Masvidal, the only top 6 fighter in the welterweight class, has never faced Usman.
As a result the idea emerged of comparing the Nigerian-born fighter with Jorge Masvidal in 2020.
Nevertheless, Usman has another idea about the next opponent's scenario in 2020. He targets Georges St-Pierre as a potential potential opponent.
Usman assessed St-Pierre would be the right opponent for him in recording his 12th successive win at the UFC.
Because, St-Pierre is the holder of the longest winning streak in the UFC welterweight class, which is 12 matches.
The "new" Usman has carved 11 consecutive wins since his debut at the UFC in 2015.
"2020, the only thing that makes sense, I won and broke the record for consecutive wins,"
"The person who holds the record, the one who is right above me, is Georges St-Pierre. It is true that I want to break that record against St-Pierre."
Georges St-Pierre or often called GSP is known as the best fighter in the UFC event in the past decade.
No wonder the fighters are challenged to fight it. No exception UFC lightweight class champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov.
GSP itself rarely competes in the UFC. His last duel in the octagon took place in November 2017.
Nevertheless, GSP still opens the door to return from the hiatus if there are opponents who are in accordance with their wishes.
