Arsenal and Manchester United have too few goal scorers

The two top English League clubs, Arsenal and Manchester United, have similar problems this season. They are both too few to have scored.

When compared to other top Premier League clubs, Arsenal and Manchester United lost sharply.

Arsenal has only scored 28 goals and Manchester United have only 32 goals, losing to Liverpool (47), Manchester City (56), Chelsea (36), and Tottenham Hotspur (36).

The small number of goals from Arsenal and Manchester United is perhaps inevitable given that they do have too few goalscorers.

Arsenal only have 8 players who have scored in the Premier League.

They are Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (13), Alexandre Lacazette (5), Nicolas Pepe (3), David Luiz (2), Sokratis Papastathopoulos (2), Callum Chambers (1), Gabriel Martinelli (1), and Lucas Torreira (1) 1).

Manchester United also only has 8, namely Marcus Rashford (12), Anthony Martial (7), Daniel James (3), Mason Greenwood (3), Scott McTominay (3), Andrea Pereira (1), Brandon Williams (1), and Victor Lindelof (1).

Number 8 goalscorer is the fewest in the Premier League this season.

In comparison, Liverpool have 16 goalscorers, Manchester City and 11 Chelsea, while Tottenham Hotspur 9.

Arsenal and Manchester United even lost to Leicester City, which has 13 goalscorers.

In effect, Leicester scored more goals (44) and ranked higher in the standings than Arsenal and Manchester United.

Having more players who can score goals is always better for a team.

When one or more sources of goals are turned off, they still have many options to break through the opponent's goal.
