Christian Pulisic Absent in Nottingham Counter Action, What's Up?

There is one difference in the Chelsea squad against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup event on Sunday (05/01/2020) yesterday. They were not strengthened by one of its flagship attackers, Christian Pulisic.

The United States player adorned Chelsea's starting XI list when they met Brighton & Hove Albion last week. Overall, he has played 23 times in various events.

Strangely, his name is not visible from the list of Chelsea players in the starting XI and its reserves. But he was observed watching the match against Nottingham from the audience bench.

The match itself ended positive for Chelsea. The club nicknamed the Blues won 2-0 thanks to goals from Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ross Barkley.

Pulisic Absent Reasons

After the match, then Frank Lampard gave an explanation about the absence of Pulisic. The former Derby County coach said that the 21-year-old suffered an injury while undergoing a training session.

This could be bad news for Chelsea. Because Pulisic nicks for half the season is quite slick. He has pocketed a total of six goals and six assists in all competitions.

But there is encouraging news. Reporting from Metro News, Pulisic looks out of the field without experiencing any problems. So it is believed that the injury suffered by him is not severe.

Not enough two goals

Without Pulisic, Chelsea are still capable of winning. But Lampard was still not satisfied because he was sure that his team could score more goals in the match.

"This match is not easy. When they make changes, it does not mean this is an easy match,

"We got two goals and it was very comfortable, but did we push from that and create and score more goals? No, and I want us to score more goals," he concluded.

The same hope is likely to be carried again by Lampard when meeting Burnley in the Premier League event on Saturday (11/01/2020). The match will be held at the Blues headquarters, Stamford Bridge.
