Charles Leclerc: The Future of F1 isn't just me and Max Verstappen

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc believes that the future of Formula 1 season isn't just about him and Max Verstappen.

Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen became two young drivers who managed to shine in the Formula 1 season 2019 season.

Max Verstappen has actually been considered as a potential driver in F1.

Verstappen's first win came in the 2016 season, or two seasons before Leclerc debuted in F1.

But the fact that Leclerc and Verstappen are the same age, now 22 years old, makes their rivalry seen as the future of F1.

Leclerc and Verstappen have several times been involved in duels on the track. Both of them are 22 years old but have been racing with top teams in the first class of F1.

Verstappen, who is more experienced, gets better results with three wins and is third in the standings.

Leclerc is equally impressive. He managed to rank fourth in the final standings thanks to two wins and 10 podium finishes.

One Leclerc victory even meant special for Ferrari because it was won at Monza, a home circuit that they had never won since 2010.

Leclerc himself does not see Verstappen as the only young driver he needs to watch out for.

"This is not just about Max and me. A whole generation of great talent will emerge," Leclerc said, quoted by BolaSport.com from Speedweek.com.

"It will be very difficult to win in the coming years, but of course I will do everything I can to get ahead," added Leclerc

F1 event does have a row of young drivers who have the potential.

There are Pierre Gasly and Alexander Albon who are racers guided by Red Bull Racing like Verstappen.

Then also two young British racers, George Russel (Williams) and Lando Norris (McLaren) who dominated the Formula 2 2018 season.
