Barcelona's Exile Player Denies Telling a Monkey to Real Madrid Defender

Getafe midfielder, Marc Cucurella, clarified allegations of racist actions addressed to him during a meeting of Real Madrid in the 19th week of the Spanish League 2019-2020.

Getafe surrendered 0-3 from Real Madrid at home, Coliseum Alfonso Perez, Saturday (4/1/2019).

The match was peppered with friction between players, one of which involved Marc Cucurella.

The loan player from Barcelona was seen arguing with El Real defender Eder Militao.

A newspaper said that he attacked his opponent with racist slurs.

Not wanting to get a bad stamp, Cucurella then spoke up.

"I want to explain that I did not insult Militao," Cucurella wrote via Twitter.

Furthermore, he also thinks that the public has misread his words against Militao.

"I say pico (shut your mouth), not mico (monkey). I apologize if anyone is offended by this," said the 21-year-old youth in the same upload.

As a result of the defeat of Madrid, Getafe dropped to seventh in the standings with 30 points.
