Lampard's Chelsea Finally Wins

Chelsea returned home from Norwich City headquarters with a win. This became the inaugural victory of the Frank Lampard era Chelsea in competitive matches.

Norwich vs Chelsea duel in the third week of the Premier League went fierce. The match which was held at Carrow Road Stadium on Saturday (08/24/2019), was finally won by Chelsea with a score of 3-2.

Chelsea took the lead through a quick goal by Tammy Abraham in the third minute before being answered by Todd Cantwell three minutes later. The visitors then took the lead again after Mason Mount scored in the 17th minute

Teemu Pukki's goal in the 30th minute drew the score back. Abraham then scored his second goal in this match in the 68th minute to secure three points for Chelsea.

This became Chelsea's first win with Lampard in a competitive match. In the previous three matches, Chelsea lost twice and drew once.

Chelsea opened the season with a 0-4 defeat to Manchester United in the inaugural week of the English League. They must then recognize Liverpool's superiority in the European Super Cup before being held to a draw at Leicester City.

"That was a tough test and Norwich will get a lot of points here because they are a good team," Lampard said as reported by the BBC.

"I don't like the two goals in our goal, but there are a lot of elements in our game and I'm really happy."

This victory also keeps Lampard's positive record over Norwich. During his time as manager, Lampard has never lost to Norwich (W2 D1). One victory came while he was still in charge of Derby County.

With this result, Chelsea moved up to 10th in the Premier League standings with four points from three matches. While Norwich is 13th with three points.
