A Burnley Supporter Receives an Award from UEFA

Scott Cunliffe, a Burnley supporter, has won awards from the European Football Association (UEFA). The prize given to Cunliffe was titled "UEFA Prize for Equality of Play".

Cunliffe received this award through a unique fundraising campaign throughout the 2018-19 season. The 45-year-old player collects money by playing each Burnley game.

In total, Cunliffe has covered a distance of 3,000 miles (around 4,800 km) during the 2018-19 season. He also collected 55,000 pounds (about 950 million Rupiah) from various charities.

"I am proud that the club has been chosen as one of the winners of the UEFA Equal Play Award and I believe that sport is one of the media that can unite many people," he said. Scott Cunliffe on the official UEFA website.

"I really hope the race I did last season can inspire many people to start exercising, no matter who they are," added Cunliffe.

Cunliffe is not the only prize winner playing the UEFA equivalent. German giant Borussia Dortmund was also named the winner thanks to the anti-racist campaign carried out throughout the 2018-2019 season.

"Borussia Dortmund believes that social engagement between the club and its supporters is very important, and we are proud that UEFA was awarded this prestigious title for our commitment to various social engagement programs that we have carried out," said Hanz-Joachim Watzke, CEO of Der BVB.
