Left by Lukaku, Manchester United Got a New Problem

Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed a significant problem after the departure of Romelu Lukaku. The Norwegian coach said his team lacked strikers up front.

As you know, Lukaku decided to go to Inter Milan in early August. The Belgian striker was saved at 80 million euros.

His departure was followed by another striker, Alexis Sanchez, who also chose Inter as the next port club. However, unlike Lukaku, Alexis was loaned.

An exodus of players up front forced Manchester United to leave behind only young personalities such as Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial. Two of the three names provide evidence that Solskjaer can count on his abilities.

Solskjaer is always looking

So far, Rashford and Martial have scored two goals in three matches. Not to mention if added by Daniel James, who has also registered his name twice on the dashboard so far.

From three matches, Manchester United scored seven goals. But problems have been seen in the last two matches, where they have only been able to score two goals, so they have not managed to achieve positive results.

Solskjaer also realized that, despite facing Chelsea's counter-match, the front lines were slow for now. He also claimed to be looking for an attacker who could replace the team to make it better than now.

"Right now, we are creating opportunities, but of course we are always looking for someone who can grow us, and we have done it," Solskjaer told a press conference before the match against Southampton, quoted by Goal International.

Couldn't get a replacement

But because the transfer market is closed, Manchester United must be patient until January to find new players. Solskjaer is quite disappointed because he hasn't managed to get Lukaku's replacement so far.

"As I said back from the tour, we were still looking for a replacement for Lukaku if he left, we lost one, but we didn't have a suitable replacement and we didn't get the answer. It was wanted," he said.

Solskjaer's major task must be completed immediately if he does not want to lose three points at Southampton headquarters on Saturday (31/08/2019) tonight. In addition, Anthony Martial could be absent because he was still injured until then.
