PSG and Real Madrid are Closer in Goalkeeper Exchange
Rumors about the goalkeeper exchange between Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Real Madrid proved not to be a product. Negotiations are ongoing and the agreement seems only a matter of time. The strongest signal came when Paris faced FC Metz on Saturday (30/08/2019) morning.
In the 2019-20 Championship of Week 1 match at St-Symphorien Stadium, PSG did not fall with goalkeeper Alphonse Areola. The post of the French team goalkeeper was filled by Marcin Bulka. Before the match, coach Thomas Tuchel confirmed that the decision was related to the possibility of the transfer of the main goalkeeper to Real Madrid.
"There are ongoing negotiations with other clubs, Alphonse chose not to play today, so Bulka played," Thomas Tuchel said before the match between PSG and Metz, quoted by Football5Star.com from Football365.
The decision was quite common for players who changed clubs. They refused to play to avoid possible injuries that made the transfer unrealized.
According to Spanish media, Alphonse Areola will be part of Keylor Navas' transfer from Real Madrid. PSG will be ready to hand over 15 million euros plus Areola to the Costa Rica national team goalkeeper.
If the keeper exchange with Real Madrid is realized, PSG will still have only two goalkeepers. Because the three goalkeepers were released at another club. Gianluigi Buffon returned to Juventus, Kevin Trapp was sold permanently to Eintracht Frankfurt, while Remy Descamps was released in Charleroi.
