His back still aches, Lorenzo was happy to finish 14th

Silverstone - Jorge Lorenzo was pleased with the results of the 2019 British MotoGP. Although he only finished 14th, Lorenzo admitted that he was maximized because his back had not fully recovered.

After missing the last four races or about two months, the Spaniard returned Sunday to the Silverstone circuit (8/25 2019). It was his first race after a spinal cord injury at the Dutch MotoGP free training session last June.

"My back hurts a lot, to be honest, it hurts more than yesterday and Friday, because I ran up to 20 consecutive rounds, faster than all sessions this weekend," he said. Lorenzo, quoted by Crash.

"This race did not help my injury, it is now inflamed everywhere and I feel tremendous pain," he added.

Despite the fact that his bike hurts, Lorenzo said he was still happy to finish the race and finished 14th. The 32-year-old racer even thought he would be behind a pack.

"To be honest, I hope to finish the last one, but throughout the race, I take turns in front of (Karel) Abraham and (Hafiz) Syahrin, who are faster than me at this week's session," he said.

Currently, Lorenzo is still ranked 19th with 21 points. Plus, he never finished in the top 10 this season.
