Former Man United player from Wales Fighting Against Cancer

Former Wales Man United player in the 1970s, Mickey Thomas struggled to fight his cancer. Thomas, 65, was found guilty of esophageal cancer.

"I stay in bed and more tubes are in my hands and nose, maybe I don't know anymore, this time I'm afraid of not going home," Mickey said, quoted from a daily letter, Sunday (08/18/2019).

"It's an infection that gave me cancer, an infection that I experienced was very dangerous, I know it's hard to cure, but I still have a chance, right?"

Added by players who have collected a total of 90 caps with Man United, said the process of healing the cancer was very painful and boring.

"They say that chemotherapy eliminates this disease, but honestly, sometimes I'm very traumatized and I want things to be done quickly," complained Thomas.

In 1978, the Red Devils recruited Thomas at Wrexham. As a sailor, Thomas's expertise on the wing side was very impressive in Germany. With Wrexham, he made 230 appearances and scored 33 goals.

After moving briefly from Man United to Everton in 1981, Thomas has defended Brighton, Stoke City and Chelsea. In 1994, Thomas decided to retire to the amateur club Porthmadog.
