Ribery Does Not Want To Be Rival Ronaldo

Florence - experienced winger Franck Ribery insists that his presence does not have to be a rival for Cristiano Ronaldo. Ribery aims to place Fiorentina among the top three.
Ribery was officially presented as a new Fiorentina player on Thursday (08/22/2019). He landed in Florence at no cost after spending 12 years with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

Ribery has emerged as the most successful player in the German league. During his career, Ribery has won nine league titles, six DFB trophies, four German Super Cups and one Champions League title.

Ribery's presence was added to the Italian League star list after Cristano Ronaldo's arrival at Juventus last summer. However, competing with Ronaldo is not the goal. Ribery joined Fiorentina.

"I am very motivated, I still want to play, I have a two-year contract and I want to be firm and help young players," Ribery said.

"I want to give something back to this club, I'm here to help my team, Fiorentina, I'm not here to be a rival for Ronaldo," the 36-year-old said.

"I want to get Fiorentina into the top three. Serie A is a big tournament with lots of good players, good Inter-shops in the market, and Juventus."

The last time Fiorentina blocked fourth place, he finished in the last seven seasons. While the last time to finish in the top trio was in 1998/99, when Gabriel Batistuta.
