European Player of the Year: Messi, Ronaldo or Van Dijk?

Together with the drawing of the Champions League group phase tonight, it will be announced the European Footballer of the Year 2019. Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, or Virgil van Dijk?

UEFA in the last two weeks has set Messi, Ronaldo and Van Dijk as the best European candidates for 2019 players. Through a poll that was attended by representatives of 80 Champions League participants last season, plus journalists from 55 UEFA member countries, it will be known who will get the prestigious award this.

The announcement will take place at the Champions League group stage drawing series, Thursday (29/08/2019) tonight.

For Ronaldo, this is the ninth time in a row he entered the top three European Footballer of the Year. The Portuguese star has successfully become the best three times, namely in 2014, 2016 and 2017.

This year he is considered worthy of the nomination for being able to bring Juventus and Portugal to win. He won Serie A with the Bianconerri, and successfully presented the UEFA Nations League trophy for his country.
