Real Madrid vs Man City Champions League
Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos celebrated after breaking in Osasuna's goal in the Spanish league party.

Sergio Ramos, commented on the fate of Manchester City in the Champions League for the next two seasons.

Manchester City were punished for not being able to enter the Champions League for two consecutive seasons.

The sentence was obtained by Man City after being proven to overstate sponsorship funds on the financial statements from 2012 to 2016.

Sergio Ramos claimed he could not imagine if something similar happened to the team he defended.

"It's hard to say, but I'm lucky this didn't happen to our team," Ramos said as quoted by BolaSport.com from Marca.

"The sentence is clearly a player's nightmare, but they can also prove to be more motivated in those two years," Ramos added.

Ramos himself is currently preparing with Real Madrid to meet Man City.

The two teams will meet at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium for the first leg of the Champions League last 16 match

Despite being punished, Ramos certainly will not underestimate Man City.

Ramos stressed that Man City remains a team that should be watched by his team.

Moreover, Real Madrid was eliminated from the last 16 of last season.

Ramos clearly hopes that he and his team mates will not make the same mistake.
