Fabio Quartararo has just been given a contract extension from Yamaha until 2022.
Not only that, Quartararo was also promoted as a manufacturer team racer starting in 2021 replacing Valentino Rossi.
This is inseparable from the promising performance of the French rider throughout last season.
Quartararo was even rewarded with the title of individual rookie of the year in MotoGP 2019.
He was able to finish on the podium seven times so that he finished fifth in the final standings of the MotoGP rider last season.
Even so, Quartararo has not dared to boast that he will become a world champion as soon as possible.
He has other goals before becoming world champion.
Quartararo dan Vinales.
I feel ready. Especially after signing a contract. "My mind is empty, I already know what to do in the next three years and it takes the pressure off me," Quartararo told L'Equipe.
"Obviously I'm not not in the same situation in 2019 when I was able to finish in the top 10 and then in the top eight, with the ambition to become the best rookie."
"I will not say that I am aiming for the title, but I want to maintain the momentum of last year," he continued.
This 20-year-old racer added that he tried to penetrate the front position in the race.
"First, I need to have good qualifications to be regularly in the front row," Quartararo said.
To do that, Fabio Quartararo will seriously undergo rigorous training for the purpose of this season being achieved.
"We have to work hard during training to do our best in the race," Quartararo said.
MotoGP 2020 will begin by holding the first racing series at the Losail International Circuit, Qatar, on March 6-8.
