0.013 Seconds That Separates Rins with Marquez

Jakarta - Marc Marquez finished second in the British MotoGP after being overtaken by Alex Rins in front of the finish line. 0.013 seconds later, that's not the slightest difference in the MotoGP event.

At the Silverstone circuit on Sunday night (08/26/2019), local time, Marquez was in the leading position when crossing the last corner of the British MotoGP. But he did not bend with optimal grip, while Alex Rins was very close behind him.

At a very short distance between the last corner and the finish line, Rins got away from inside. The Suzuki rider finally won by just 0.013 seconds ahead of Marquez.

The distance of 0.013 seconds between Rins and Marquez is not the closest between the winner and finalist. In fact, what happened in the British MotoGP only ranks fourth.

Following are the smallest differences in time between champions and finalists, quoted on the official MotoGP website:

- Barry Sheene vs. Giacomo Agostini, Assen, 1975 - 0,000
- Alex Criville vs. Mick Doohan, Brno, 1996 - 0.002
- Tony Elias Vs. Valentino Rossi, Estoril, 2006 - 0.002
