- Gareth Bale was widely rumored to be expelled from Real Madrid by Zinedine Zidane. Until the summer transfer window closes, Bale turns out to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu. Bale's feud with Zidane began to surface in the 2018 Champions League final. The Welsh winger was reportedly unable to trust Zidane to fill the Los Blancos starting eleven against Liverpool. Although not playing from the first minute, Bale was able to contribute two goals. Madrid came out as champions after winning 3-1. Interestingly, after the match, Bale spoke in an interview session that he would communicate with agents regarding his future at Real Madrid. Instead of going to look for a new club, Bale instead survived and Zidane resigned after winning the Champions League in 2018. The Madrid coach's seat changed hands to Julen Lopetegui. Together with Lopetegui, Bale played 12 times by scoring four goals and five assists. Bale's contribution was apparently not enough to bring Madrid to compete at the top and Lopetegui was replaced by Santiago Solari. The former Tottenham player can still be trusted by Solari. Bale recorded 22 times by scoring nine goals and one assist. Again, it has not been able to make Madrid compete with Barca at the top of the standings.
