England set a record of home attendance for the German match

England topped the record after selling more than 50,000 tickets for the match against Germany at Wembley in November.

The previous record was 45,619 when Germany were also opponents and won 3-0 at Wembley in 2014.

England reached the World Cup semi-final this summer and faced Belgium and Norway before welcoming Germany.

"We are very grateful for this extraordinary support," said England head coach Phil Neville.

"We have a lot of trips to watch in France [for the World Cup], millions of people watch TV and now it shows great support for the German match.

"This will be a great way to end the extraordinary year that began with the SheBelieves Cup as we watched the World Cup campaign bring Olympic qualifications and mark a big transformation in the appearance of matches in this country."
