Czech Republic MotoGP: Who will stop Marquez from the second half of the season?

After a three-week vacation, MotoGP is held again this weekend in the Czech Republic. The situation remains the same: who can stop Marc Márquez?

The first half of the 2019 MotoGP season ended with Marc Márquez's victory in the German MotoGP. It was his fifth victory of the celebrated nine-race season.

The statistics made Márquez stand firm at the top of the MotoGP classification, his superiority over Andrea Dovizioso in second place was extended to 48 points. Because the difference in points is too wide, Cal Crutchlow said a few days ago that the 2019 MotoGP competition was actually over.

Is that true

Crutchlow's prediction is clearly too fast. There are still 10 races in the second half of the season, which means there are 250 maximum points that can be achieved. Whatever might happen.

But breaking Cruthlow's predictions is also not easy. Currently there are no drivers who are consistent enough to at least beat Marquez. Dovizioso, who has been busy since the start of the season, is the main challenger, although he continues to be great. Ducati, as complained by Dovizioso, now competes with Yamaha and Suzuki in developing the motorbike.

Yamaha is now showing great potential to compete with Marquez and Honda. Finals in positions 1 and 2 won by Maverick Vinales before the summer holidays are the clearest indication or rise of Yamaha. If not fatal to experience three surprises in Argentina, France, and Catalonia, Viñales will compete in the highest category.

Don't forget Fabio Quartararo too. The French debut was two podium finishes and three times he won pole position. This 20-year-old prodigy is one reason why Yamaha pulled on Valentino Rossi's theme last week.

"Of course Ducati will return and they will be very fast, but now the drivers to beat are Yamaha, Vinales and Quartararo. I think they will be very fast in the second half of the season," Márquez said in mid-July.

There are still 10 races left this season, which opens up any opportunity to occur in MotoGP. It was predicted that Marc Márquez would still dominate, but the Viñales and Quartararo duo certainly deserved to be counted.

Interesting also awaits Ducati's response to support the rise of Dovizioso and Danilo Petrucci.

Be prepared, the second half of 2019 MotoGP is back this weekend!
