Serbia vs Portugal Match Results: Score 2-4

Portugal through its first two matches with a draw. Cristiano Ronaldo and his friends finally won their first victory in the third match. These first three points were achieved through a fierce six-goal match at the Serbian headquarters.

Defending champion and UEFA Nations League champions of Portugal travel to Belgrade to face Serbia in the continued EURO 2020 Qualification Group B, Sunday (09/08/2019). Portugal won 4-2.

The game went pretty tight at the beginning of the first round. Portugal had a 75% ball possession in the opening 17 minutes, while Serbia was disciplined in defense. Serbia understands, against attackers like Ronaldo and Bernardo Silva, they must not be complacent.

After several opportunities were created, the deadlock finally broke at the end of the first half. It is the guest team that is able to steal the advantage. The scorer was quite unexpected, William Carvalho from the second line. Ten minutes later, Serbia got a breath of fresh air. Utilizing Dusan Tadic's corner, Milenkovic who had not managed to score a goal with a header. Serbia thinned the difference in score and it made them come back excited.

Fernando Santos in the stronghold of Portugal responded by pulling Guedes to include Atletico Madrid's wonderkid, Joao Felix.

Serbia was again forced to bow. Ten minutes before normal time ran out, Ronaldo finally put his name on the scoreboard. Bernardo Silva dribbled towards the heart of the Serbian defense, then unleashed a breakthrough pass into Ronaldo's running track. The captain finished with a little chip-ball to outwit goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic who came crashing.

However, Serbia has not surrendered. Interval of five minutes, from assists Tadic, Mitrovic thinned the difference in the score to 2-3. Portugal responded with a fourth goal. Continuing Raphael Guerreiro's assist, Bernardo Silva restored Portugal's two-goal lead.

The Serbian resistance ended, and Portugal won their first victory.
