Ranocchia insisted that Icardi's departure had nothing to do with the Inter team
Mauro Icardi left Inter Milan. However, Andrea Ranocchia insisted that the Inter team had nothing to do with Icardi's departure from the club.
Icardi has decided to switch to PSG in the summer transfer market. He was loaned to Paris for the season with a call option.
The Argentine striker has signed a one-year contract extension at the San Siro before passing the 2019 summer transfer deadline.
Luciano Spalletti removed the armband from Icardi's arm last season. New boss Antonio Conte also recruited a new striker this summer by recruiting Romelu Lukaku
Ranocchia said the problem, stemming from the delayed negotiations, had never affected the relationship between Icardi and his team-mates, despite reports that they would not be satisfied with criticism from his wife and Wanda Nara Police.
"As I always say, this is a problem between the club and the players," Ranocchia told Sky Sport Italia.
"They have found a solution that works for both parties and we must now continue what we started."
"In pre-season and in the last few weeks, the Icardi problem does not require energy."
Conte managed to deliver Inter to two Serie A wins before the international break. This certainly raised hopes after Inter finished fourth last season.
Ranocchia started in both matches. He thinks the Nerazzurri can achieve success under former Juventus and Chelsea bosses.
"It's a very long season, there are a lot of things that can happen and now the match will start every three days," the 31-year-old said.
"But our job is to create something extraordinary.
"All the players who came were very good, some young and some older, they all brought great experiences and seriousness."
