Olivier Giroud Tired of being a Reserve Player at Chelsea
French national team bomber Olivier Giroud said he was very tired because he often became a player with Chelsea last season. He was determined to show his best performance and change Tammy Abraham to start XI.
Since arriving at Stamford Bridge in January 2018, Giroud has struggled to find a place in the first team. The 32-year-old is also more often featured as a substitute under the direction of Antonio Conte, Maurizio Sarri and now Frank Lampard.
"This season, I was given the task of helping young players develop." But I don't want to fall asleep with this new role, "Olivier Giroud told Le Figaro.
"I am still hungry and I have big ambitions. I certainly do not want to continue to be a reserve striker at Chelsea. The fact that I am a young player leader does not mean that I am not in the competition to appear as a starter."
Although Giroud only has one label as a player who faces at Chelsea, it does not interfere with his international career. The coach of the French national team, Didier Deschamps, also continued to give Giroud confidence and not worry about Alexandre Lacazette, who appeared perfect with Arsenal.
Not only that, Giroud also managed to show a pretty good performance when he was given the confidence to perform. This is shown by the European League's top scorer title that he got in the 2018-19 season.
