Messi Determined to Comeback in the Champions League Open

Lionel Messi said firmly that he would not play this weekend in the Barcelona-Valencia match. However, La Pulga is expected to perform during Barca's visit to Borussia Dortmund headquarters during the Champions League group stage next week.

Previously, the Argentine striker was known for a calf injury which kept him out of the first three LaLiga matches of the 2019/2020 Spanish season. After being expected to play a match against Real Betis on Sunday (08/25/2019), the injury was even revived. As a result, La Pulga also has to retire longer and certainly not absent when Barcelona accept Valencia at Camp Nou. The fourth match continues on Monday (9/16/2019).

With a rest period of up to one month, Messi should be able to fully recover from the injury that happened to him during the preparation session. Indeed, Barca are waiting for a very important match against Borussia Dortmund during the first day of the Champions League.

"I always practice by myself, I don't know when I will definitely come back, I have taken an exam and when I recover 100%, I will be ready," Messi told Sport. "I will not play against Valencia, but we will see if I can play again when I go to the headquarters of Dortmund in the Champions League or Granada.

In the Champions League, apart from Dortmund, Barcelona have joined Group F with Inter Milan and Slavia Prague.
