Real Madrid brought in Alphonse Areola from Paris Saint-Germain. The 26-year-old goalkeeper became the first Filipino blooded player to wear a Los Blancos costume.
Areola on loan at Madrid from PSG this summer. His transfer became a Keylor Navas transfer lubricant which was sold to Les Parisiens.

Areola is the French national team goalkeeper. However, he also has Filipino blood from his parents. Fox Sports said, Areola became the first Filipino player to wear a Madrid costume
Areola himself began a career in France since 2006, when carried off by PSG. Two years later, he also defended the France U-16 national team. In 2011, he was invited to move to the Philippines national team, but he chose to remain costumed Les Bleus.

Areola was loaned to various clubs such as Lens, Bastia and Villarreal. In 2016/2017, he was repatriated by PSG and was able to move up and down to replace Kevin Trapp and Gianluigi Buffon.

Together with PSG, Areola has played 107 times with a record of conceding 87 times and making 53 clean sheets. Now, he moved to Madrid on a season loan.
