Don't let Rashford like Walcott

London - Stan Collymore is worried that Marcus Rashford will have the same fate as Theo Walcott. The former Arsenal player experienced a decline in his career due to continued decline in his duties.

Rashford often plays in different positions up front, both at Manchester United and the English national team. He currently plays on the wings and spearheads.

But Rashford's flexibility is considered to have a negative impact on his career. According to Collymore, the 21-year-old striker must determine his best position so that his talents develop optimally.


The former Liverpool player is worried that Rashford will suffer the same fate as Walcott. The Everton player was once considered a great talent in English football.

But the potential was not channeled with the Three Lions team because of the same thing experienced by Rashford at this time. Walcott only scored eight goals in 47 appearances for the English national team.

"If Marcus Rashford doesn't care, sooner or later he will suffer the same fate as Walcott. A player is not seen playing on either side of the wing or striker number 9," Collymore was quoted as saying by Talksport.

"But being a versatile player can make sure he doesn't control certain positions, that's why it's time for him to decide what position he wants."

"Whether he wants to take the 9th position or not, if he likes to play in any position, that means the place in the English national team is in his hands."

"But if it continues in the next five or ten years, I worry that his career will be affected," he said.
