Before Retiring, Ramos Wants To Add Champions League Title
Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has the feeling that he is still playing at the highest level in the next few years. As such, he did not hesitate to try to win his fifth title in the Champions League before retiring.
Ramos, 33, has collected four Champions League medals in his 15-year career at El Real. Of the four trophies, including three won in a row by Madrid.
But after that, Los Blancos finished last season without a single title and have even been eliminated from the last 16 Champions League matches.
Ramos was accused as one of the causes of Madrid's performance decline last season. This season, he returned to the stage because Thibaut Courtois conceded four goals in three matches, forcing El Real to settle for fifth place in the standings to win just one win.
Ramos himself refused to be blamed for Madrid's less promising performance at the start of the season. And he promised, before retiring, to help Madrid win the 14th trophy in the Champions League, or the fifth for him.
"To win the fifth Champions League is crazy, but that's why I made many sacrifices." "Winning the European Cup or the World Cup might be a little unique, even Golden Ball, but that is the reason why I still struggle every day," Ramos said.
"I'm sure I can still do it because I feel like I can play for a few more years."
