Good news for Manchester United: Eric Bailly recovers faster
Manchester United defender Eric Bailly will play again at a faster pace than expected after being fit again after undergoing knee surgery, sources told ESPN FC.
Bailly underwent surgery last July after a right knee ligament injury during a friendly match against Tottenham in Shanghai.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's manager initially said Bailly would be out for about five months, so he could only play again at the end of December.
But early treatment has gone very well and there is hope that recovery will not be as long as originally thought.
The 25-year-old has not played competitive matches since a left knee injury last April. He is scheduled to train again in two months and can return to defend Manchester United after the November international break.
This is good news for Solskjaer, who was plagued with injury problems when he only played four games in the new season. Luke Shaw was offside for a month with a hamstring injury, while Anthony Martial was sidelined when Manchester United played against Southampton with a thigh injury.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka was expelled from the English team due to a back injury, before Jesse Lingard was also forced to return to Carrington due to illness. Paul Pogba also suffered an ankle injury during Manchester United against Southampton. Meanwhile wing wing Diogo Dalot went to China to receive treatment for a pelvic injury.
