Oezil Assessed Less Hard Training at Arsenal
Arsenal legend Charlie Nicholas, talks about the situation at the Emirates Stadium in Mesut Özil. He assured the German players will form a serious Gunners.
Özil has only played twice in 12 games this season Arsenal. The 31-year-old only feels 142 minutes.
The future of the player becomes clear. Despite this, Nicolas believes Ozil will return to the first team if practice is more serious.
"Is Emery going to get rid of Mesut Özil in this situation? I think Emery knows Oezil didn't train hard enough, that's why he wasn't included in the team," he said at Soccerway.
"Özil is still there, so I will play," Nicholas said.
Özil has defended Arsenal since 2013. He recorded 233 appearances in all competitions with 43 goals.
Arsenal tried to remove it in the transfer market last summer. However, every European club is interested because of very high salaries.
Özil himself insisted that it was always ready when needed. "Of course, the situation is disappointing. But as a professional soccer player, I must respect the coach's decision," Ozil told Athletic.
"Don't participate, watch at home, make me feel helpless. I want to be part of the team, I want to support my teammates to succeed. I don't practice all the time just for that. I'm ready to play," said the player.
