Dries Mertens Wants to stay longer in Naples
Dries Mertens name some time ago was rumored to be leaving Naples. But the news was immediately denied by the players.
Dries Mertens almost moved to China earlier this season. But he decided to stay in Naples. His decision was fruitful often because the name of the bomber appeared on the dashboard.
For players from Belgium, he does not think of going to the Stadio San Paolo. He really wants to stay longer and wishes to break the legendary record, Diego Maradona.
"I never felt old. Now I'm 32, but I still feel like I'm 25 or 26 years old. Maybe it happened because I didn't have kids. I played the best football of my career and of course I want to play here again," said Mertens goes to RBTF Wednesday (09/09/2016).
"I am still thinking about the balance of Maradona, everyone is talking about it. I am very proud to be close to the legendary record as Maradona. Now I can only say, I want to stay in Naples," he added.
The former PSV Eindhoven player has also insisted he could lose everything if he leaves Partinopei in the near future. He also rejected the possibility of moving to another Italian team or outside Europe.
"If I leave Naples, I will lose everything. I see that I cannot play for other Italian clubs. Naples is home. I am also impossible to go to China or Gatar because I want to end my career in Belgium," said Dries Mertens.
