Zarco's position is increasingly squeezed because each team already has their respective drivers for next season. However, Zarco's desire has never changed, which is to keep competing in MotoGP next season. In order to realize his desire to continue to appear in MotoGP, the option to become a test racer was calculated by Zarco.

Zarco had no problem himself being a test driver because judging that role could also make him comfortable. The French passporter was confident he would be able to find the comfort and speed he had last season while playing as a test driver.
Being a test racer doesn't mean Zarco won't be able to return to the real race. Zarco can still appear in the wildcard race as Sylvain Guintoli did with Suzuki Ecstar and Stefan Bradl with Repsol Honda.
