Tottenham Hotspur Gets Good News Regarding Lo Celso's Injury
Tottenham Hotspur received good news from his young star, Giovani Lo Celso, who was initially rumored to have a groin injury in the Argentina national team's friendly against Chile on Friday (6/9).
The 23-year-old retired when the match entered 53 minutes. Argentina's match against Chile ended in a 0-0 draw. But, shortly, the official team account of Argentina reported that Lo Celso suffered a left groin injury.
At present, Spurs have lost two of their new players; Tanguy Ndombele, who suffered a thigh injury and Ryan Sessegnon because of a hamstring injury in the last two matches in the Premier League. Now, the injury suffered by Lo Celso certainly adds to the frustration of coach Mauricio Pochettino.
So far this season, Celso has never appeared as a starter for Spurs since he was loaned from Real Betis this summer. But he said the problems he had with the Argentine national team were nothing to worry about.
"We deserve more results. We have many opportunities that could be the goal, but nothing happens. My problem is just a small problem, it's not something to worry about," Lo Celso said as reported by Standard Sport.
After this month's international break, Tottenham Hotspur hopes to welcome players who were previously injured, including Ndombele, Sessegnon, Kyle Walker-Peters and Juan Foyth.
Pochettino's squad is scheduled to host Crystal Palace on September 14, a week before they start a new battle in the Champions League. In the first group stage match, Spurs will face Olympiacos in Athens.
After being absent in two transfer markets, Tottenham finally brought fresh blood this summer. One of them, Giovani Lo Celso. He borrowed Real Betis Spurs, but it is believed that Pochettino has the option to buy him permanently next summer.
So far this season, Lo Celso has appeared in three Premier League matches played by Hotspur. However, he never appeared as a starter and only played for 44 minutes in the Premier League.
To get to Lo Celso, Tottenham must face Barcelona as its closest rival. But the Premier League club wants to get the first player.
At that time, Betis had to charge Lo Celso to balance his finances this summer. The player who is now defending Tottenham Hotspur himself has enjoyed his best season as a senior footballer. He appeared in 45 matches in all competitions for Betis.
Lo Celso appeared sensational with an impressive record of 16 goals and six assists. His performance also convinced the club to use his purchase option, paying 22 million euros to sign it permanently.
